Hey whats up guys im new to this site but i enjoy tortoises as much as everyone here, i recently purchased 2 yellow foot tortoises 4 months apart from each other but they have very distinct looks in my opinion, i was told both are amazon basins by a reputable breeder aswell. my question is if they can look different and still be the exact same variant, or maybe is one another sub species. It doesnt bother me at all its more for educational purposes, and without me saying anything can you guys guess which is male and which is female? Both are 7", weighing around 2.5 lbs maybe a tad bit more and each is over 2 years old thanks guys!

Whats up sin thanks for the reply, i have them in seperate pens and both live outside im in Florida, what im having trouble is finding deeper info on all the variants of yellowfoot and how to distinguish them, i.e. Suriname, colombian, amazon basin etc. I also asked about the gender because maybe thats why they look different, the breeder told me before hand there still too young to sex

They technically ARE too young to sex. But those vents are definitely well defined already. And I think it IS indeed a pair.
I'm sorry. I know little about Yellowfoot sub species. And unless they are wild collected, they may already be hybrids of different localities.

Thanks pilot yea even though there the same length one is way wider then the other and the tips of the shell front and back go up i think thats the male. He has a really big head compared to the other one i think is a lady with the smoother features
