We've had a very wet spring and summer this year. So not good conditions for drying grass and weeds for winter feedings in bulk. Looks like no rain predicted until Friday evening so I started today. I use an electric mower with a bag to collect it and spread it out on the driveway. After it dries I store it in the large lawn debris paper bags until needed.KIMG4048~2.JPGif the weather holds out I should be able to dry enough for the winter. I was able to dry some of the early spring weeds a while back.

I wish I could dry mine like that. The only place I have to lay it out is also my drive way. Unfortunately, that's on the side of my house and always has a strong breeze. I would lose it all.
I do mine, leaves only, in mesh bags. I don't get to do grass. When I tried the grass l, no one liked it. I hang the bags in one half of the tortoise shed and try to flip them around and over every few days. Its works, but some always goes bad with mold.

Dana and I wish we had the lawn to be able to do this! Boy that would save us a lot of money. That would be great! Thank goodness for a feed store and bales of grass! I like that you think ahead and do this Len, it's great. :) Nice to see you again.

I used to dry leaves but found out they prefer to eat the naturally fallen leaves right from the ground. So I don't rake leaves until the next spring now. Mostly maple with mulberry, ROS, grape, red bud and ginkgo mixed in.

Thanks, No good source of good bales of grass around me. I've been doing this a long time and learned to adapt and adjust.
