Just wondering if you guys know what these little white flakes are on my Sully’s shell? It looks like what would be dandruff for humans. He bathes twice a day for 15-20 mins, but that doesn’t seem to get rid of it. Thanks guys! He’s obviously growing so not sure if it could be that

might be hard water spots. Have you tried to wash them off? What kind of substrate do you use?

We use coco coir, they seem to fade away when he’s in water then he dries off and it’s back. The only thing I can compare it to as a likeness is dandruff, obviously it isn’t but that’s what it looks like

As Yvonne said, it is most likely calcium/mineral spots left when the water remaining on the shell from soaking the tortoise evaporates. You can get them off with some vinegar or lemon juice on a cotton swab.
