What To Plant in outdoor tortoise runs

Hi! I've built a tortoise run which is a half O if that makes sense. its about ten feet wide, and 30 feet long. I'm going to plant dandelions, Bermuda grass some kale, and maybe a few strawberry plants as a treat but I'm looking for more plant ideas. He's a western Herman's tortoise and I'm wondering what native plants he would be eating in his natural habitat that I could plant myself. If anyone could recommend any plants that would be so helpful. thanks!

Lyriopi are a few bucks each and grow into very thick, low, shady bushes.
They are also relatively trample resistant and don't usually get eaten.
