What to make the sides of enclosure out of

Hey guys upgrading the Tortoise table for indoors very soon. Could you guys give me some ideas for the sides of the table to be made out of. I haven't much of an idea what woods to use or if there is anything other than wood that would work?

I use regular plywood and 2x4s.
