I am wondering if I should put a rock under the basking spot she can sit on, or just let her sit on the cypress mulch. The rock will absorb some of the lamp's heat and warm her underneath, but moisture from the much will evaporate as she sits there and she will benefit from the humidity.

Any thoughts? Thank you.

When my leopard was younger, he would never sit on the rock, always off to the side, so I never used one. Either way is fine, just be sure if you use a rock, it doesn't get too hot.

I use a piece of slate or sandstone. Makes it easy to accurately measure your basking temp.
