What kind of tortoise is this?

This photo is me with a tortoise I saw while I was on a mission trip in Ethiopia. I was wondering what kind of tortoise it is? Ethiopia is in the horn of Africa. I hope you can tell by the picture..

Leopard tortoise, nice size one.

Its a leopard tortoise, most likely Paradalis Babcocki.

I didn't read the original post....just jumped down to the picture and saw from the persons profile that they were from Texas so I assumed it was taken in the US.

Yes, most died off, but from what I have heard some did make it and are breeding well.

There was a thread not too long ago where someone posted about a Spain based forum. There was some discussion about it there. Even some pictures of young Ethiopian leopards.

Eh...from Fife's experience I don't think it'd be worth it...(didn't they only see a couple of them?). And the Sulcata's would be too boring for me. . If we jaunt down to SA I'd be good to go.
