What is this? HUGE vine.

Could it be a mandevilla? I've tried growing one, but they freeze and don't come back.

I have a mandevilla in the front that we just planted. The flowers of it are a little different. Leaves are also quite a bit smaller on my mandevilla. Are there varieties with different traits?Mandevilla is inedible right?

The one with the yellow and pink flowers looks like trumpet vine, but I'm not sure. They're both really beautiful though!

This membrane is of a sweet, pleasant taste. The country people of Carolina crop these vines to pieces, together with china brier ands sassafras roots, and boil them in their beer in the spring, for diet drink, in order to attenuate and purify the blood and juices, it is a principal ingredient in Howards famous infusion for curing the yaws, etc., the virtues and use of which he obtained from Indian Doctors."

It looks like trumpet vine to me. The botanist told us it was toxic.
Thanks for the info! Is there anyway to pass along this information to The Tortoise Table because they listed it as feed sparingly, but non-toxic to torts (humans might experience dermatitis and excessive perspiration).

If the crossvine has any drawbacks, it might be that it grows too robustly for the space it has been given. Sometimes suckers appear that need to be taken up to keep the plant in bounds. Deer will eat it.

Yeah, pretty flowers. I looked it up on a website: <davesgarden.com>. It appears to be very invasive, if very pretty.
