Abou a month and a half two months agowe adopted a FL box turtle. A lady rescued it from the road, she said it was dehydrated and lethargic. She had it for about a week or two once it seemed better she tried to sell it for 150. I talked with her and she have it too, I was concerned with releasing it because she let it walk around her house with her dog and other animals, I didn't want it to take something back to the wild with it.

I go out today and she had laid two eggs, but didn't dig a nest and had trampled them. Then as I am standing there she is walking around and lays another. It is dented in and I know most likely not fertile but I will incubate it for a while and see what happens.

I am keeping a close eye on her, though I think she is done. Is it common for bodies to double clutch?

Seems like they were dropped cuz she knew they were infertile, I would still try and incubate them either way, and turtles will double clutch sometimes triple in a year, keep a eye out in the near future of nesting behavior, she might of lost these eggs do to stress, least she isn't egg bound that's good

I have it set up to incubate. I have read they go about 3-4 weeks between clutches, is this accurate?

I would say clutches are more like month or two apart just depends, mine always laid closer to two month

a highly productive female can lay as little as 3 weeks or so inbetween clutches, it looks like she attempted to eat the eggs rather then trample them,
