UVB winter usage

For those of us with forest tortoises in cold climates, i.e. Forstenii, Manouria, etc., I am trying to get an idea of how many people use UVB during the winter when they are indoors, and how many just supplement. I know this has been debated a lot so I am not trying to start a debate.

I use UVB (long tube fluorescents). Worst case, they don't really need it, but I'm fine with that. Even the densest tropical forests have patches where UVB makes it down to tortoise height, so it is a part of their environment, whether they are using it or not.

I have UVB strip (fluorescent) that lately just have on couple of hrs less, trying to follow the natural cycle outside
