Help just got my male hermans up earlier today. They share a viv at night in main run all day.
They have both died swollen necks bleeding for mouth. Have another 8 tort afforded what killed them is it incectous?

How many tortoises are in your group? You don’t mix species do you?

I can't tell much from the description given. Possibly pneumonia could cause this type of situation, but I can't be sure. If it is pneumonia, it could very well be contagious.

Please show us pics of them, the area they were in, and tell us all the data.

The bleeding sounds to me like there could be something toxic that they ingested or that affected their lungs. Could anyone have tossed anything into the yard/run? What about insecticide or a weed killer being used within forty-to-?-feet that could have drifted over in the wind?

Do you have a vet that is good and could do a necropsy?
