Hmmm, I never really thought any animal was mute. Just thought we couldn't hear a lot of them because of either their size or the pitch of their sound. I have heard quite a few different frogs, toads and lizards make noise. I have also heard turtles and my own tortoises.
Do they communicate to others of their own species or even other species? Why make a noise if they don't. I always just assumed they did, specially hearing my own tortoises, turtles and the many frogs, but didn't KNOW if they did.
If bugs can make noise or even light up to communicate, then most likely any animal or reptile would.
I also figure there are some that can't make noise and have other means to communicate, seeing we have mute humans.
