I have a wild area next door to me that is never mowed, sprayed with anything, and may hold good stuff. That said, I really suck at plant id, unless it's flowers. Hoping someone (or several someones ) can help me decide if any of this is safe to feed.

Three... I think this is poison ivy, but I don't react to poison ivy, so I'm not sure.

Yes, I have the tortoise table. Now that they have reorganized it, I have difficulty finding anything I don't have a name for.

I think this one is deadly nightshade.

Do you have an iPhone or iPad? Download garden compass. Take photos of the plants, email them in, they will ID the plant then you go to TTT to look it up.... Takes about a day for them to get back to you with the plant ID.

So, two kinds of ragweed, which as far as I can find appears to fall into the 'okay in moderation' file, and then common horseweed (conyza canadiensis ) have been positively identified by a botanist. I do not have anything iwhatever in my house, so I Found an app called flowerchecker which allows me to submit photos to a botanist for identification, but I do have to pay approximately $1.33 for each identification I request. Worth it, imo.

Does anyone know if this horseweed is edible? It does not at all match the pictures of anything with horse in the name in the tortoise table app.

This could be ragweed, unattended it can grow thick like this. If it is ragweed, it's box turtle heaven.
I think I need to clarify what I mean by box turtle heaven, eastern box turtles love to hide in areas with thick growing ragweed, especially the youngsters, I have never seen a box turtle eat ragweed. SORRY about the confusion.

I did wonder what you meant, but after I harvest some of this stuff, I'm weed whacking it all. (With gloves and a mask) Too much pollen for my allergies, but not willing to use any chemical on it.

I do wish I had boxies in my area, but there are a lot of predators, and I've never seen any.
