Why does my tortoise do this, is he stressed or something... I've just got them, and plus there's biting going on between them two, I'm thinking of giving the aggressive one back and getting a more tame one.. Anyway here is a picture of what they do

If there's biting going on, my advice is to separate them immediately before any damage is done. Sending the aggressive one back for a "tame" one will most likely have the same results. Torts, for the most part, are solitary creatures and they don't need friends.

They are trying to climb out because thats what tortoises do. In the wild a russian would cover a territory of several square miles. Even your whole garden is too small. Usually the smaller the enclosure the worse it is.

About the fighting: Again, this is what they do, and this is why you don't keep them in pairs. Separate them, or find a new home for one of them before they seriously hurt each other.

The person who sold them to you should have told you all of this. Sorry they didn't.

Exactly! Plus from the looks of things, that enclosure would be a fairly easy one to escape from. :( How big is it and what are actually your temps in there?

Russians are escapologists extraordinaire. It's their nature. You give them lots if space and you secure it well!

They are solitary and don't share nicely. By all means give one back, but don't make the mistake of thinking another one will be different.

They don't get lonely and they don't need or want company. A solitary Russian is a happy Russian.

Hello,

I notice my tortoise are keen to escape too previously but after I am using bale, it seems to like it by digging and sleeping inside the bale :D
