I have two red footed tortoises (one with red coloring, the other with yellow coloring) and after watching them over the past week - I'm certain I have a male and a female. I have posted photos in the past asking for opinions on whether I have two female tortoises or one male and female. Most of the responses guessed I had two females.
I have seen Iggy bopping his head up and down then side to side, seeming to be flirting with Squirt - and then he continues to mount her.
My only concern is about their age. They are both 6 inches in length and I've guessed they are 5 years old. Should I consider separating them until they're old enough to breed? Will they be fine living with each other?
