I'm finding the 3 of them are starting to prefer to huddle together either inside this hide or up on top of it.

I keep telling ya, but I'm so glad you decided on getting 3. It would have been so different it you had kept a pair.

Thanks for sharing the photo.

And I saw the barrel roll! The video was posted on The Reptile Reports tortoise page!

They seem a little nervous when I put them in the outdoor tub but I guess they'll get used to it soon.

I trust this "indoor" gage in the chamber but it has some wonky measurements outside! I guess it was picking up heat from the deck rail but it honestly didn't feel that hot to the touch. I set it on the ground and it read 111F! So I put it in the shade and it read much closer to what the need was saying. They said 86F and the gage said 88F. It must not like direct sunlight LOL.

I can trust this thing right? Accurite, from Home Depot.

I just bought 2 of those suckers. I first put it under the basking light, then on the cool end of the tank and it took a good few minutes for the new temp and humidity to register and pop up on the screen. But I like mine so far.

I love the acurite readers.

Put some cover in their outdoor sun pen. They will fell much more comfortable in it.
You can buy 3 potted plants and just set them in the tub when you put them in it.

I might be wrong but I trust those for ambient temps and I go with a laser gun for spot checking surface temps. I was so worried my set up was not getting the proper temps because as I moved the sensor the temps changed by several degrees in a very close area. The gun lets me hit right where the Torts are while they are there. It also lets me check everywhere in the habitat in seconds. I can read the basking temp, the cool temp, inside the hide and on top of each tortoise in less than 10 seconds! You could hit each of the Leo Trio in three seconds and know if they are warm enough!

I've always trusted my acurite reader! More accurate that the expensive gages you get at Petsmart but not a pin point acurite as the Thermal Gun (got one of those too!)

I guess I need to order one from lllreptile.

On an unrelated note, is it alright to use a warm mist humidifier to keep the humidity higher? I mean, like the mist from the humidity literally entering the chamber and keeping it humid. I ask because I accidentally stumbled upon this...I moved the humidifier over out of my way to access my boxies tank and then turned around a couple of minutes late and realized I was fogging the Leo's humid chamber. There is a "vent" in the handles of the tote and the humid steam was pointed right at it. Misting the chamber with fog. If this is ok, I may keep it right there when the humidity drops a bit like it's been doing when we have to run the furnace. Picture coming, brb.

Where the humidifier WAS.

Where I moved it so I wouldn't step all over it when I was working in Lylah's enclosure.

The handle vent where the steam started entering the chamber.

Looking down into chamber where the handle vent is. (Moved the CHE dome for viewing)

And can that much fog make the MVB burst?!?!?! I don't need that again!

Great deals on the temp guns on Amazon. Much cheaper and you can get 2 for less than one on lll and check them against each other!
