I am happy to leave Joe, a TGG, out when the temperatures drop to 50F. However, I make sure he spends the night in his dry, shelter which is full of straw. The straw insulates him and it is actually slightly warmer in the shelter than the air temperature outside. If there is any danger of a frost he comes indoors.
I also have a basking lamp rigged up in a different shelter and he is moved under that first thing in the morning. When he has grilled enough he leaves of his own accord.
