Temp help

Ok first of all, is a greek tort considered a desert tortoise? Sorry guess I should know that by now but just got a bit mixed up recently ( long story ) what should temps look like? And humidity? I'm really confused on how to keep steady temperatures. Would putting the lights higher help?

Raising the lights will lessen the uv rays is that what you want to do?

Just ordered lamp stands. They should arrive in 5 to 8 days. Until than what can I do? Temps have gotten up to 99 degrees from adding a mercury vapor bulb it sits on top of the cage, any ideas on what I can do? My tort should be here Wednesday.

Is that just the basking spot or the full setup temps? Basking spot should be 95/100 cool side 75 during the day. And Greeks are not a desert tort. They need a warm hummed area not wet and not cold
