Tank clean out!

We use zoo med forest floor as our Hermanns tortoise substrate.

I spot clean twice a day but am wondering how often you all do a complete clean out of their tank?

And when you do a full clean what kind of spray do you use to disinfect?

You shouldn't have to do that for at least a year maybe more if you spot clean at least once daily. Also what helps is to stir around the substrate about once every month or so. More is better, so what's on the bottom can get to the top etc.

I soak indoor tortoises frequently. This serves to keep them well hydrated, but it also gets their waste out of the enclosure since they tend to poop and pee in the soak water. This being the case, I only remove and change the substrate if I am moving that tortoise out of the enclosure and plan to put a new one in there. I disinfect with F10 or with 12% peroxide.
