Ahhhh, total cuteness. Make sure to provide shade. And maybe a couple hides buried in the ground a little bit. you can plant seeds to get some good grasses and weeds growing in there. If you will not be out there with him I would definitely put a cover over the top, chickenwire or hardware cloth. he may be able to start spending more time outside, it sounds like you live somewhere nice and warm :) my tortoise and Boxturtle are stuck inside for half the year. :-(

I am already on it!! I just bought over 5000 seeds and can't wait to plant them! I work as a Plant Specialist at Lowe's so I am always rescuing plants for my Turbo to enjoy. It just started pouring down rain so everything is on hold. Errrr I really want to get out there and do some more work. I am going to build a couple of frames and staple chicken wire to the frames to make covers for the enclosure. I am also going to place caps over the cinder blocks so you wont be able to see the holes in the blocks. I have lots of hibiscus plants, spider plants and wondering jew that I can't wait to plant in there. He is going to love this enclosure!!

Sounds like you have a great plan. Because her full of the pesticides on the plants. I definitely do not have a green thumb but suddenly I find myself wanting to plan things for my tortoise :)

He has been hiding behind the cast iron plant and the hibiscus. I made this just for him to get sun. But all he wants to do is hide.

Somebody has been working. :) Young tortoises will spend a lot of time "hiding". That is how they survive in the wild. Good thing is, those lovely UV rays can still bounce around and reach him. All your hard work is not in vain. Plus as he grows and becomes more confident, he will start being more active and using it.

Oh good. He just always seems to be so scared. I see other tortoises with such personalities. Turbo freaks out about everything. I am raising a sissy!!

Give him time. Nature gave them different levels of comfort. I bet before you know it, he will become more outgoing. :) Personality is often something you have to grow into and each one is a bit different and special in it's own way.
