I've read about requirements of Sulcata and have added dry grass hay but he doesn't seem interested. I'm sure this question has been asked lots of times but it is the dry hay that one gives the tortoise is it?

Do you mean that he won't eat it because it's dry? My sulcata eats every kind of grass, dry, dying, green! You can try dehydrating it by soaking it for bit, maybe it'll tweak his interest. Does he like fresh grass and hay? Maybe add dry stuff later, when he gets used to eating the more fibrous and tough grasses.

Thank you so much for replying. Yes I added lots of dry hay to his diet and he went into it and ..... slept. Previously I was feeding the wrong stuff eg salads. He's only a few months old.

Young Torts never really have any interest in dry hay. It is good your introducing it to him young but do not worry if he does not eat it. It is something you will want for him when he is older & bigger.
