Could someone post an "ideal habitat" for a sulcatas cage? A picture of one would be nice, listing some components such as the types of light bulbs, and just how it should look. This would be very helpful to me, for I am reconstructing my baby's and need to know the major things he will need!! Post pics, or list them please! Thanks.

I saved this pic from someone else on here because it looks so amazing. They said they had plastic on the inside too, so humidity would probably be amazing and you already have bars to hang your lights. This will be my next pen if I ever get one. It's $135 on Amazon.com

Dizisdalife posted the links right above you :)

Dizisdalife, Not to change the subject, but I was reading an old post of yours and you said you weighed your Sulcata at 10 months and it was 100 grams. I am now supper worried. My sulcata is 1 or just a little older than 1 and is only 60 grams. (2.2 ounces) He eats like a little pig. Gets out door time on my days off. Soaks at least twice a week if not more. Has a UVB in the day and a CHE at night. Sleeps in a Humid Hide. Sorry I am freaking out right now. 20150305_191032.jpg 20150304_191432.jpg 20150301_101213.jpg

Some just grow slower, depends on how they are started too.

How did your baby spend the first few weeks of its life? Was it in a "desert" type enclosure? If yes, this would explain the slow growth. The ones who are not going to make it usually don't get past 50 grams and seldom live for a whole year, so yours will probably make it.

Soak daily, use a closed chamber and feed Mazuri two or three times a week. Eventually he will grow. Might take a couple of years, but don't give up.

Is that the most recent pic of your baby? He doesn't look 10 months. There is almost no new shell growth. My guy is almost 10 months and he has a ton of growth

Yes, he was not more than 100 grams at 10 months. He was started dry and kept dry until I rescued him. Also, he had a pinworm infestation that was discovered a couple of months later. The Vet gave me some panacur and instructed me to put the dosage on some Mazuri so that I could be sure he was getting the full dose. The was Chuck's first Mazuri. He loved it from the first bite. The pinworm infestation was cleared up and Mazuri became a regular part of his diet. Within a few months he had gained 20 grams and has been gaining weight ever since.
