What would be the best type of substrate for my 6 year olds, in their indoor cave? They're out all day in their grass pen and then come in at night to their table which has a sleeping area at one end with a ceramic heater over it. I've had them on stones and now they are on coir but I have to dampen that to avoid the dust and think maybe they should be on something that doesn't need to be damped down as they are no longer little hatchlings. I can't get sphagnum moss here. What can I use or is the damp coir ok for them? The temperature at night, without the CE is 79/80 as it's quite warm here at the moment.

Hi Val:

If they're outside all day and only come in for safety at night, then you can get by with a cardboard box with newspaper on the floor. They don't need a habitat for night time, just a den.
