IMG_2522.JPG IMG_2524.JPG I just got a bunch of food grade spineless cactus for free, some small (6"-1 ft), some big and thick (2 ft). Picked up about 50 or more pieces. (The guy had a huge row of them growing on his property). I read on the forum that some people feed this regularly. Can I feed any size or should I cut it up into smaller chunks? Is it ok to give this as a staple food? I will still provide the other stuff (mazuri, leafy greens, grasses). Yoshi is 4 yrs old and about 12" now.

Also considering adding alfalfa hay to his diet but I still have to research how to store it.

I feed it to my guys 3 or 4 times a week all summer long. I use the amount in your picture in a day or two.

I wouldn't use alfalfa hay very often, and if you do, soak your tortoise a few times per week. Grass hays work better. I prefer orchard grass hay or bermuda hay.
