I am going to lose the aspen and going for playsand/soil mix. My question is what soil should I pick up? or is safe for use with torts? Thanks for the advice.

Hi derekdehass, I would use one or the other unless you split the pen to hold one substrate on each side. An organic soil or just garden soil from your yard if you don't use any chemicals works fine. I use Kellogg Natural soil.

Actually I have thought of using just the soil itself without adding sand to it. I already have a huge bag of plain organic soil. Thanks for helping out.

Also just so you know that I am talking about indoor enclosure.
