Not really wanting to post this but I figured its time. I have a 8 - 9 inch in the upper carapace common snapping turtle. Ive had him since I graduated from high school (hatchling size) and he was a good 'bachelor's pet' but since I havent had time for him hes gotten mean given Ive kept him in a 75 gallon in the garage with a heater due to our 4 year old's curiosity. His shell is in perfect condition and hes probably the prettiest snapper I have ever seen but I cant see keeping him now that I have a family and he has a strong feeding response. I am unable to ship but hes free to anyone who will take care of him for the long run and willing to pick up. Im located in North Carolina. Id donate him to the science museum but the ones they have are almost twice his size and obviously releasing him now that hes been in captivity is out of the question.
