Hello when looking at my leopard tortoise today I noticed a almost small crater like whole on his shell. His shell isn't soft any where but it almost also looks like a small cracked spot, please let me know what you think and solutions. I know it's hard to see but it's the darker spot on the bottom towards the front.

Odd, hope you figure it out. Does it look like a puncture mark? Do you have any dogs or cats that can get to the tort?

It does look like a little puncture but there is no way my dogs did it since he's kept up high and both dogs being 100 plus pound german shepards I think it would have been bigger.

It might be some sort of rodent bite. Keep it clean and apply some sort of antibiotic ointment to it.
