Actually you can do anything you want to! You just have to keep a good watch on them to be sure the smaller tortoise is getting his allowance of food and is not being bullied. Larger tortoises aren't too careful about where they walk and usually if a smaller tortoise is in the way they just get pushed around. But, it can be done. Redfoots seem to be one of the kinds of tortoise that don't mind "herd" living.
Yay, because I'm thinking about getting the cutest little "guy" who was the most active... except I want it to be a girl... Anyone have sex pics of torts that around that age? I have to do it myself, they said they won't because they don't want to be responsible if their wrong... boooo... Sexing pointers please!
Well how long does it take them to sexually mature? Lets say I get one and it turns out to be a boy... how long do I have before they get active? Because I just don't want any hatchlings for 4 or 6 years
As for mixing sizes- just make sure they all have plenty of room, otherwise the big ones walk all over the little ones. You may also want to establish two or more feeding stations to avoid trampling.
