I have a new enclosure, and decided against getting the other tort. I read a forum a couple days ago that made a lot of sense, and said that instead of buying another tort, to take the money you would spend on it, and really do a nice cage instead, so I made Mahoney a new nicer cage, that's a whole lot easier to monitor than the other guineapig cage was! I definitely like the closed chamber cages better now that I have one and can see first hand how much more active and happy Mahoney seems to be. He was already a little lower house in the guinea pig cage munchin and walking around, but he did sleep most of the day. Now he is a lot more active, since the coldest part of his enclosure now is 84 degrees! He has also been eating more, I guess since it's easier for him to digest his food and keep the humidity in the enclosure up!everything looks very dry. i used plastic wrap and duct tape to seal in the heat and humidity. ideally a digital humidity indicator is the way to go. more accurate.
and if the current tort is larger and you add a second smaller one...im sure you can assume which will bully which.
