Hi,
I have only been a tortoise owner a few months, I have read everything I can about Redfoots. I noticed these white areas of Max's shell a few weeks ago. At first I thought it was new growth, as it progressed I began to think it was the beginning of marbling but now am starting to think its shell rot.
Her 4 temps are where they should be, daily 20 minute soaks. The humidity is never below 80% during the day and depending on the weather goes into the mid 90%'s at night. Although back during the summer when it was rainy for a week the humidity stayed very high for a few days. Her substrate is Cypress mulch and sphagnum moss, dry on top moist on bottom.
As I am inexperienced I would like opinions before I start treatment for shell rot.
Thanks
