Been looking around on forum but cant seem to find anything on shell care.
What I mean is obviously some of the owners are putting something on their torts shells to make it look like new,
some sort of wax or polish am I right ???

Incorrect tortoises don't need anything on their shells to be healthy. Some people do however put coconut oil. The reason why some tortoises shell might look cleaner/newer usually is because one is kept indoors while the other is kept outdoors. The sun tends to wear out the color on the shell over time.

I don't do a thing to any of my turtles/torts shells, and they are perfect and clean. When you soak, you can gently rub off any dirt, but outdoor tortoises will just naturally (as above) be dirtier than indoor torts, and that's okay. Nothing wrong with it.

Many people admit to sprain down there tortoises shell before they take a picture. This helps bring out the color.
