My Tortoise couldnt be less interested in her kuttle fish that is availble to her 24/7, i do dust her food so she is getting calcuim, it would be nice however to see her try the kuttle bone espeacailly because i read somewhere that it will help sharpen her mouth.
Any one got any ideas how i can make the kuttle bone more appealing?

Some prefer it to be abit manky and weathered so you could try leaving some outside until it looks abit less desirable lol. I wouldn't worry to much though she obviously feels that she needs no extra, some just don't go for it like others do. Some of mine prefer their natural chalk over cuttle fish, others are the opposite.

I think the "fishy" smell dissipates after its been sitting out in the weather for a few weeks, then it becomes more desirable. However, last year I had a piece of sheet rock left over from a repair in the house. I tore off the paper backing and broke it up into several pieces and put them in the tortoise pens. They left the sheet rock sitting in the pens to "weather" just like they do with the cuttle bone, but eventually started biting off pieces.

Actually chewing on cuttlefish bone helps to file down their beaks not sharpen them. I do agree with Yvonne, the cuttlefish bones need to be left out in the sun & weather to dry up. When they are dry & powdery to touch, the fishy smell is usually less strong & the torts are more likely to chew on them.
