Sexing

So I have a question about the sex of my tortoise. It's 4 years old and I thought she looked like a her, but today something came out of "her" tail that makes me question it so I'm curious for your all's opinion. I'm concerned maybe it was something wrong with it so any help is much appreciated!!

Do you have a pic of the "thing" in question? . The way the lower plastron is shaped makes me think girl (based off what I've read) but if it is flashing then you def have a boy on your hands.

No, I didn't get a picture. I was bathing him and picked him up and seen it, and set him down to get someone else for their opinion lol

Your tortoise is still in the "changing" state. Most very young tortoises look female (and you're seeing female-shaped anal scutes on this tortoise), however, the tail shouts 'male' to me.
