I have been trying to figure out if Albert is really an Alberta and while I've found very helpful information in other threads, I'm still at a loss and hoping someone can help. I'm beginning to think he's actually a she (not at all concave...) but I don't understand what a 'rounded scute' vs a 'non-rounded scute' looks like. I'd hate to give the poor guy an identity complex by mis-sexing him (or her)! Thanks in advance!!

Hi Faery:

(Did we ever learn your name?)

Please bear in mind that my young yellowfoot tortoise was a male until she laid eggs, so take my answer with a grain of salt.

Your tortoise looks female to me.

I had a feeling that might be the case, thanks so much sharing your expertise! And I'd prefer to go by my user name if that's alright.

Jacqui....lol. smh. ;) I am anxious to know the sex of mine as well....but, he/she is even smaller than faery's. I suppose I will just have to wait. *sigh*
