Yep, Scoot is a girl. Males on the hingebacks generally have an extremely long tail that wraps around and touches the rear leg. Almost as long as male Russian’s. Good luck with her. Mine sure love mushrooms, night crawlers, Strawberries, and Cantaloupe. On occasion I give them some fishy canned cat food. They love to burrow down into their substrate during the day and they tend to come out at dawn and dusk.

Take care,

I have had her for almost a year now. I was pretty sure she is a she but wanted confirmation, thanks guys. Right now Scoot will not eat anything that does not smell like banana, so all her food gets lightly coated in banana baby food and I am slowly lowering the amount of banana that is used to coat the food. It is taking a while but she is slowly weening off the banana.

Males are the easy ones to find, they are all over Kingsnake.com I got my girls from Outback Reptiles and I was very pleased, and would recommend them.

The tails on the male hingies really are insanely big, I'll take a pic and show you.

This is a male...notice the difference? Much thicker and a bit longer.

Also notice his plastron is a bit concave (indents in)

Not a Home's, but another male hingeback tail

Jacqui,
Nice pics! Like I said, males have a tail that wraps around and touches the leg. Thanks for the illustration.
