Saliva on food tray

Hi is it normal for star tortoise to excrete lots of saliva all over the leaves that I placed on the food tray?
It isn't easy for them to eat some of the leaves as it lies flat on the tray

Drool is not uncommon to be found on food pieces not consumed...they have more than one salivary gland (this is why they can eat in the air vs a turtle who usually needs to be in water to eat) and if the food gets stuck flat you can either fluff it again for them...or spray a little water on the food so it wont stick so solid...

Phew!!! I was worried its a symptom to some disease. Paranoid. Lol

Sounds ok, I have seen saliva in the mix!
