Can they have sweet potatoes

I put yams or sweet potatoes into the microwave for a few minutes to soften them, then feed it to all my different species of tortoise. But its something that they get only once in a while, not as a part of their daily diet.

Great idea, I buy pre chopped bags of sweet taters to feed to the tort boys, and my cockatoo!
