russian eye

hello guys. have a problem one of my russians, he wont open one eye. not sure he got bite by another russian i have. doesnt look red or bleeding, looks normal just doesnt open it. what should i do before taken him to the vet.

Have you tried soaking him in luke warm water? See it this helps.

Its always a good idea to have eye ointment on hand for first aid emergencies. I use Terramycin Opthalmic Ointment by Pfizer. The little tube costs about $12 at a feed store. You can also buy it from your vet, but it costs a bit more that way. It is also available online. Here's only one link:

I think this salve is a miracle drug! Any eye problem, whether its a little scratch, eyes too dry, eye infection, whatever...can be cleared right up by applying this ointment three times a day for a couple days. Even if you don't have any eye problems, buy a tube to keep on hand.

thank you guys, he's doing a tiny little bit better...he's trying to opening his eye now..(while in warm water)...small slit but then closed again after i took him out. im going to try this again today and if nothing....then ill get the eye cream.
