Running eyes?!

My tortoise has had very runny eyes lately. I recent!y switched his bedding to pure coconut coir and was wondering if that could be it... Today a lightly used my finger to wipe some goo of his right eye and it was just really goopy bedding... Any suggestions?

Do you keep the coco Coir moist and packed down. I have never had problems with coco Coir. What kind of UVB bulb are you using?
