Use orchid bark from Home Depot. It's cheaper and better. I also have a layer of potting soil over it.

Yeah I was looking for orchird bark in hardware store but couldn't find one other than cedar.

I'm not familiar with Canadian hardware store chains. I would think that ANY place that sells plants would sell orchid bark. It holds moisture so well and does not get moldy.

I been travel lowes, Home Depot, Rona. They don't have any cypress mulch or fir bark

I found the orchid bark where they have the orchids all set up for sale. The bags are small.

Thanks man, but I don't think Home Depot in Canada carry this. I guess I will try wash through the bark I have now. I spend 80 bucks sth on it....

I rinsed my repti bark really, really....really good. I even used boiling water for part of my rinse cycle, and Shrimp never gets red on him. He even digs down into it at night.
