Redfoot in Colorado Springs CO

Anyone in CO have room for a redfoot? This poor thing is pyramiding and being kept in a 20 gallon tank.....

I'm going to send them an email giving them some suggestions, but it would be nice to get that tort to a new home.

I just sent them an email. That is absolutely horrible. In one pic it's on bedding and on one its on a rock in the water. WTF? I hope someone can save this tort.

I told them I couldn't afford it when I emailed them, I will probably try to get it down in price and bring it home with me, but realistically I can't really afford it at all so we shall see if I can help the poor thing.

Good call, I emailed them again asking them how much for just the tort, maybe I can afford that.

Are you aware that that is not a water turtle and should not be put in
watered as you have pictured? That tortoise is horribly pyramided as a
direct result from your improper care. That tank is absolutely way too small, and none of that is worth $150. I hope you do the. right thing and get it in the hands of someone who actually knows what they are doing. Do the world a favor and don't get any more pets.

for doing the best i can for a turtle i know nothing about , why dont
you find somthing better to do then talk ****to people you dont even
know. really its ridiculous, how old are you? 15? get a life, buy
the damn turtle and give it what you preach or mind your own *******
business. seriously, you shouldve been a victum in the boston bombing.

The sad part is he will continue with his pathetic existence in his pathetic life that surly is exactly like the care he gives this TORTOISE (not turtle), while it is the animal who has no fault in this whole situation that suffers! These kinds of things make me sick, there should be more restrictions on who owns tortoises! 😠😡😡

That certainly is a rude and vulgar response, but I'm not surprised, given the condition of his animal. Having said that, Electra, your message to him was not very diplomatic. That doesn't excuse his response, but in the future, instead of attacking someone and how they care (or don't care) for their pet, I suggest offering information without accusations. That way, the advice is more likely to be accepted, and you are less likely to be attacked. And if they do attack you, like this oaf did, then it's completely their fault.

I'm pretty sure I got the tort, I sent him an email earlier with some suggestions about better care for a redfoot, he just emailed me back and said thanks for not being mean and yelling at him he rescued the tort from someone else a month ago and doesn't know what to do with it and that I can have it for free since I seem to know what I'm doing and love tortoises.

As I was typing the first part my phone buzzed, checked my emails and I did indeed get the tortoise free. I will be meeting up on Wed evening to pick him up.
