Red foot Tortoise

I'm looking to get a Redfoot Tortiose soon and I was wondering if I should have a enclosed enclosure or a open enclosure? Thanks

Welcome to the forum! You can find great info on Redfoots at http://www.tortoiselibrary.com/nutrition-2/good-foods-list/. They do prefer a humid environment so a closed enclosure would be best. I used a Christmas Tree storage bin for my baby red's....

Definitely closed! With an open enclosure you're going to have issues with low humidity and your Tort will most likely end up dehydrated and pyramided.

Depends on where you live. If you're in a humid, warm environment year round (without air conditioning) you could do an open enclosure. Otherwise closed is best.
