He is yes, not significantly but it’ll definitely get worse over time if it’s not got on top of. Right off the bat I’d say substrate looks too dry, also if it’s some kind of reptisoil or top soil mix, I’d switch it out.

Hopefully these links might help you out!

This is a guide for one of our most experienced members

I made this thread based on the forums care information and added visual aids, it covers correct equipment(uvb, heating bulbs, lighting etc, check bulb types because the wrong ones can contribute to pyramiding), correct levels, importance of a closed chamber for younger tortoises(only way to maintain the humidity you need), appropriately maintaining the humidity, safe substrates, there’s lots of visual examples for everything, and a really handy diet link to check out! If going with a greenhouse, the lower the ceiling height, whilst still allowing for recommended bulb height, the better! But I’ll add some more ideas below for closed chambers

This includes different closed chamber options, some work better than others

Lastly, this one here is good to go over and keep on hand, it’ll help you avoid the wrong bulbs, substrates, housing etc, I always encourage double checking purchases on the forum too before buying😊

I hope they help! Ultimately humidity goes furthest in pyramiding prevention, make sure it’s staying 80+. Feel feel to ask any further questions, welcome to the forum🐢💚

Your tortoise had a horrible start its first month or so, since then it is much, much improved. The newer growth is coming in with little pyramiding - so it looks like you are doing thing much better now.

Please be sure to read and follow the advice in the care sheet (the first link in the post above). The pictures your posted seem to be from different times over the past few months, but from what I see, the enclosure needs to be upgraded.
