for those of you who have larger torts- are the pyramids hollow sounding? I have a Redfood that I acquired 2 weeks ago that was kept in improper conditions and is pyramided terribly. I tapped her shell, more out of sheer curiosity, and each of her pyramids sounds hollow. My russians sound dense.

Also, she has urinated but so far no urates, are there supposed to be urates? I know people are commonly concerned about urates but I've never seen anyone concerned about NO urates... and no poo in 2 weeks. I know there can be up to weeks of adjusting but man, 2 weeks without unloading... She's been eating succulents along with her mixed greens, fruits and proteins and pumpkin soaks to maybe see if we can help this process along...

I don't know about the hollow sound, sorry. Are you sure the tortoise isn't eating its poo?

They do seem to sound hallow and if I remember correctly, an X-ray of a pyramided tort shows the pyramids basically being empty.
