Ok I dug through here and found a few things about pumpkins. I have sen on other sites that it is ok to feed your tort pumpkin puree for making the pie. Is it ok to do that? Is it ok to take the pumpkin left over from halloween and give a tort a nice chunk of it?

If you buy the canned pumpkin, don't get "Pumpkin Pie Mix." It contains other things besides pumpkin.

How often do you do it? I know the pumpkin won't last long when cut up. I have heard to never feed him pumpkins but it seems a lot of the people here do it.

ONce in a while is ok. I'd say maybe once a week. If you give him pieces of the actual pumpkin, it helps them to keep their beak trimmed.

Any good from eating the pumpkin nutrient wise? I have cuttlefish bone in the cage with him for the beak trimming. He's been chomping on it.

I feed pumpkin two or three times a week to my adults this time of year. But I only do that for a month or two and then none for the other 10-11 months. I only feed grated pumpkin to the small ones mixed in with some greens about once or twice a month.

Ah ok. Guess I won't throw away one of them. I will keep one and give him a different treat. Thanks for the info on this.

I believe the seeds of pumpking and butternut squash are natural wormers,
You can dry these out, and crush them into the food or just feed whole...
