When a diet says 5 % protein is this from plants? I will be feeding a baby Hermanni . I have looked at tons of threads. How do you know the protein content of different plants?

Plants in the legume family, such as clovers and alfalfa are fairly high in protein (for green plants). Studies of wild Hermann's show they eat about 20% legumes.

What type of beans? Like green beans, or like pinto navy..... or both sorry I'm trying to get this correct. Would peas count? I grow them all the time for hubby and son. Thanks

Oh heck. I didn't even notice that. Darn it.

I don't know about beans. I've never grown any for my tortoises.
