This is a post from Julie Maguire at the Turtle Rescue of Long Island. I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place, but I just wanted everyone to see it. Very sad Sulcata story.

In all the years taking in rescues, this is the first time I've had a

Made me sick to my stomach. Visually it doesn't look that bad, but the softness...hard to watch.

OMG! What a sad story... Poor tortoise! I did not know a shell could be that soft :(. It breaks my heart to see that. RIP little one :(

How awful... I bet it didnt have bones in the legs!
on another note.. I cant help but laugh a little.. when she is pushing the shell and the birds tweet.. it looks like a squeeky toy.. BAD I KNOW!..

o my gosh, i couldn't even watch the whole of that, it just made me cringe, the poor tort!

It was hard for me to watch too, and at first I said, "Stop! for Pete's sake!!!" but then I realized that the tortoise was dead in the video. He was beyond being hurt by all the squeezing.
