I have 2 Russian torts, one I've had 6 years and successfully hibernated, another ive had 6 months.
Should I turn their heat lights off now and get them to slow down. Stop all food in a few weeks then 4 weeks later hibernate them?
I can't find my notes I usually have to remind me on what to do.

Thanks from Jammy and Marmite the tortoises :tort:

It's been said that you shouldn't let them hibernate for the 1st year that you have them. Personally, I don't let mine hibernate. It's not necassary.

I would slowly decrease the amount of light and heat over the next few weeks. I don't feed mine for 2 weeks and soak them in warm water 2 or 3 times a week to get them all cleared out.
