I want to get a couple plants to go in my tortoise tank. It's a 4x2 foot sweater box. I saw a cool little banana plant at he pet store and I want it. Could it work? I'm open to other suggestions aswell.

Bear in mind that you plants probably won't do well indoors. A banana plant is ok. The whole plant is edible. Wandering Jew, any succulent except euphorbias. They USUALLY won't eat plants that are toxic to them.

I love banana trees, they seem to do well but get big fast. I also use Pothos plants. Make sure if you get them at Walmart or a nursery that you remove the soil and replace it with organic dirt. I would also cut most of the plant back because the fertilizer may be in/on the actual plant and you don't want your little one to munch on a treated leaf. Pothos grow back relatively quick, so you won't have to worry about waiting too long.
