Picky eater

Previously my 3.5 inch female Shelly would eat greens like endives and all. But ever since she tasted mazuri that's all she only wants to eat, ignores all sorts of greens now. How do I get her to start eating vegetables again?

Also how long should I turn on the UVB bulb? I currently have it on for 6 hours daily.

I will start with the UVB. That is supposed to be in place of natural sunlight so should be on for 10-12 hours a day. What type of UVB bulb to you use? Is it a compact (coil type) bulb, a tube or a combined MVB. A photograph is brilliant and quicker than trying to describe things

Mazuri is addictive and torts will hold out for what they like!

You have to play tough Mom here... you wouldn't let your child live on a diet of candy, no matter how much they screamed... and so you have to stand firm.

Stop feeding mazuri and only feed greens. Your tort will go on hunger strike... soak daily while this happens to maintain hydration... but hang on in there. A hungry tort will eat eventually and won't come to any harm as long as they're hydrated. We will be here to support you while Shelly comes to terms with the fact that she's lost this particular battle.

When you reintroduce mazuri just give a little and make the majority of the food greens so that she can't fill up on the mazuri and ignore the rest
